I have been teaching violin on a one to one basis since I was 19 years old starting initially because someone asked me if I could teach their mate to play the violin! Since then I have taught many private violin students, as well as teaching Further and Higher Education courses and delivering workshops.
I take students of all age and abilities and am equally happy to work towards Grade exams; teach the basics of technique or work on tunes and repertoire of any style. Over the years I have performed professionally in jazz, classical ,rock, folk, country and world music ensembles so I have a fairly wide experience of different styles! Violinsheetmusic.org has a large collection of free PDFs to download. Lots of classical music plus simple tunes for beginners, christmas music and some folk/ traditional tunes.
Fiddlerman.com has a great range of music for different playing abilities and in a variety of styles - everything from Lady Gaga to Mozart violin concertos!
Capotasto have a selection of simple violin pieces and Christmas music - great for beginner - Grade 2!
